Fix Common IPTV Problems

Buffering, freezing, a black screen, a login that will not take — most IPTV problems have a quick, specific fix. Pick what is happening and work through it, or run the diagnostic for a full check.

TiviMate recording / multi-view

If recording, multi-view or catch-up is greyed out or does nothing in TiviMate, it is almost always because those are TiviMate Premium features bought through the separate Companion app, or the playlist is a plain M3U without the data they need. Confirm Premium is active and load the account by Xtream Codes, and they come back.

MAG / Formuler portal error

A portal error on a MAG or Formuler box almost always means the box is pointed at the wrong portal address, or its MAC has not been activated on our end, not that the box is faulty. Re-enter the portal URL exactly and send us the MAC so we can switch it on, and the channels load.

TiviMate 5.3.3 SMB / stuck on processing

If TiviMate 5.3.3 sits on "Processing" forever or can no longer reach an SMB share, it is almost always the newer build reading network sources differently, not your subscription. Load the playlist by Xtream Codes or the M3U URL from your WhatsApp message, clear the cache and let it rebuild.

TiviMate buffering on Firestick

If TiviMate buffers on a Fire TV Stick even though your speed test looks fine, the bottleneck is rarely your line. It is usually the stick’s Wi-Fi, a low buffer setting, or a 4K feed heavier than the stick can decode. A fast test to a nearby server does not prove the whole path to the stream is fast.

TiviMate 5.3.3 freezing

Regular freezes on a roughly one-minute rhythm in TiviMate 5.3.3 usually mean the connection is dropping in short bursts or the buffer is emptying on a heavy feed, not a fault on your account. It often shows up right after an update, when the app rebuilt its cache. Work through the fixes below in order.

Buffering

Buffering is almost always the network between your router and the device, not the subscription.

See the fix →

Freezing

Short freezes that clear on their own point to an unstable connection or a busy server at peak time.

See the fix →

Black screen

A black screen with audio is usually a decoding mismatch rather than a dead channel.

See the fix →

Login issues

Nine times out of ten the server URL was mistyped or the details were pasted with a stray space.

See the fix →

Channels not loading

If the app opens but the list is empty, the playlist needs a reload or the connection dropped mid-fetch.

See the fix →

App crashing

Crashes on open are usually an outdated app or a full cache on a low-storage device.

See the fix →

EPG problems

A blank or time-shifted guide is a reload or a time-zone setting, not a broken subscription.

See the fix →

No sound

No audio on a channel that plays video is nearly always an audio-output or passthrough setting.

See the fix →

Poor image quality

A soft picture is usually the app defaulting to a lower-quality feed, or the line not carrying 4K.

IPTV troubleshooting FAQ

Why does IPTV keep buffering or freezing?

Nearly always the network between your router and the device, not the subscription. Wi-Fi strong enough for one 4K stream can still stutter with two, so the first move is Ethernet or the 5 GHz band, then testing the HD version of the channel.

How do I tell if a problem is my setup or the service?

Open the same channel on a second device or app. If it plays there, the first device or its connection is the issue. If every device fails on one channel at peak time, that is server load; if nothing plays at all, check your internet first, then message the desk.

What is the fastest fix for most IPTV issues?

Restart the router and the player, switch to a wired or 5 GHz connection, and try the HD feed instead of 4K. Those three cover the large majority of buffering, freezing and black-screen reports.
