TiviMate 5.3.3 Freezing Every Minute

Regular freezes on a roughly one-minute rhythm in TiviMate 5.3.3 usually mean the connection is dropping in short bursts or the buffer is emptying on a heavy feed, not a fault on your account. It often shows up right after an update, when the app rebuilt its cache. Work through the fixes below in order.

Most likely causes

  • Wi-Fi dropping in short bursts, so the buffer empties on a cycle
  • A cache left half-rebuilt after the 5.3.3 update
  • A 4K feed heavier than the device can hold
  • Hardware decoding turned off, so the processor cannot keep up
  • The device short on memory or running hot

Fixes, in the order to try them

  1. Reload the playlist and clear the cache after the update: Settings, Playlists, Reload. If it persists, remove and re-add the playlist so 5.3.3 rebuilds it cleanly.

  2. Switch to Ethernet or the 5 GHz band. A regular, rhythmic freeze is the signature of brief connection drops, and a wired link removes them.

  3. Increase the buffer in Settings, Advanced, so a short drop does not empty it.

  4. Turn on hardware decoding in the playback settings. Software decoding on a stick or older box cannot hold a busy channel.

  5. Try the HD feed of the same channel. If HD is steady, the 4K version is too heavy for the device or the moment.

  6. Restart the device to clear memory and heat, closing other apps first. If one channel freezes for everyone at kick-off, that is peak server load; try shortly or message the desk.

TiviMate 5.3.3 freezing FAQ

Why does TiviMate freeze every minute?

A steady, repeating freeze is the signature of the connection dropping in short bursts and the buffer running dry each time. Wiring the device or raising the buffer usually steadies it.

Did TiviMate 5.3.3 cause the freezing?

Freezing is usually the connection or the buffer rather than the version itself. If it started right after updating to 5.3.3, reload the playlist and clear the cache first, because an update can leave the cache half-built.

How do I fix TiviMate freezing on a Firestick?

Wire the stick with Ethernet or move it to 5 GHz, raise the buffer, turn on hardware decoding, and restart it. On a Lite or older stick, use HD feeds for the busiest channels.

Does increasing the buffer stop freezing?

Often, yes. A larger buffer holds more of the stream, so a brief connection dip no longer empties it and interrupts playback.
