Working through it
Install TiViMate
Android TV and Google TV have it in the Play Store. On a Firestick it must be sideloaded with Downloader, following the Firestick guide. For Apple, Samsung or LG there is no version and there never has been, so use IPTV Smarters on those instead — anything in those stores calling itself TiViMate is a copy.
Add a playlist
Open it, choose Add playlist, then Xtream Codes login. Type in the server address, username and password from your message and press Next. It will not ask you for an M3U link and it does not want one; the Xtream route is what brings the guide and on-demand content across.
Name the playlist and let it load
Give it a name you would recognise if you ever added a second provider. It then downloads the channels and guide, and asks which categories to include. Pick roughly what you want — that choice is fully changeable later, so there is no need to agonise over it now.
Set up the guide
Under Settings, TV guide, set the refresh interval to every 12 hours. The guide source travels with the Xtream login, so unlike some players there is no separate EPG URL to paste anywhere. If you were expecting to hunt for one, you can stop.
Optional: activate Premium
Premium is bought through the separate TiViMate Companion app on a phone, not from inside TiViMate on the television, and that catches out very nearly everybody. It runs about $9.99 a year and adds recording, multi-view and multiple playlists. Live with the free version for a week before deciding whether you want any of that.
When it goes wrong, and what fixes it
"Playlist could not be loaded"
Check the server address carries its port, and that the plan is still active. Then retype the password by hand instead of pasting it, because text copied out of a chat frequently arrives with an invisible space attached. Those three account for nearly every instance of this message.
The guide shows "no information"
Force a refresh from Settings, TV guide, Update now, then restart the app. A first load across a large channel list can also simply need more time than people are willing to give it — leave it ten minutes before concluding anything is broken.
Premium was purchased but TiViMate does not know
The Companion app has to be installed and signed in with the same Google account as the television. Open Companion on the phone, confirm the purchase shows there, then restart TiViMate. It syncs on launch rather than continuously.
Channel switching feels slow
Reduce the buffer under the playback settings. A shorter buffer switches faster but tolerates less network wobble, so there is a genuine trade-off — try both settings across an evening and keep whichever bothers you less.
Recording stops partway through
Recording writes to the device’s own storage, and an Android box fills up fast. Point recordings at external storage or USB in the settings, and check free space before scheduling anything long.
Some channels are missing after setup
On first run TiViMate asks which categories to include, and it is very easy to click past that screen having selected fewer than you meant to. Go to Settings, Playlists, choose your playlist and re-open the category selection. Nothing is lost; it was only ever hidden.
The app forgets everything after a power cut
Cheap Android boxes sometimes fail to flush app data to storage before losing power. If this keeps happening, shut the box down properly rather than pulling the plug. Where that is not practical, TiViMate Premium can back its configuration up so a rebuild takes a minute instead of an evening.
Multi-view only shows one stream
Multi-view is a Premium feature, and it also counts each pane as a separate stream against your plan. Two panes on a one-screen plan will show one picture and stall on the other. That is the plan limit doing its job, not a bug.

How much does TiViMate Premium cost?
Around $9.99 a year, paid to the TiViMate developer through the Companion app. It has nothing to do with your subscription here and we receive none of it. The free version plays everything and shows the guide.
Does Stryvix4K work with TiViMate?
Yes, through the Xtream Codes login exactly as described above. It is the combination the desk recommends most often for anyone with Android hardware on a main television.
Why can I not get TiViMate on my Samsung?
It has only ever been built for Android. Samsung runs Tizen and LG runs webOS, neither of which can run it. On those sets use IPTV Smarters, or add an Android box if you specifically want TiViMate.
Can I run two providers in one app?
That is a Premium feature. The free version handles a single playlist; Premium allows several and lets you merge or switch between them.
Is the free version limited on channels?
No. Free TiViMate plays your entire line-up with the full guide. What Premium adds is recording, multi-view and multiple playlists — nothing about channel access.
Can I move TiViMate to a new box without redoing everything?
With Premium, yes — it will back up and restore its settings, favourites included. On the free version you re-add the playlist and rebuild favourites by hand, which takes about ten minutes.
Does TiViMate work on a phone?
It installs, but it is designed around a remote and is genuinely awkward on a touchscreen. Use IPTV Smarters on a phone and keep TiViMate for the television.
Can I reorder channels rather than just hide them?
Yes — TiViMate lets you drag channels into any order within a playlist, which none of the simpler players manage. Combined with favourites, it is the main reason people put up with the initial setup time.
Is TiViMate worth switching to if Smarters already works?
If your current setup is fine and you rarely use the guide, probably not — switching costs you an install and rebuilding favourites. If you find yourself scrolling to work out what is on, or you want two matches on screen at once, the difference is substantial and you will notice it the first evening.
